In case you cannot tell, I am too! Have you read Desperate Romantics (excellent book about the PRB)? I was reading that a while ago and thinking, "Aw, I want to be a member of a brotherhood... but I am a woman and an only child." So now I am making my dreams come true! I am a brother who is a part of a brotherhood.
I'm so glad! It's amazing how good their guests are, and how much I've learned from them! The episode "At Home With Jane Morris" is one of my favorites.
Sweet! Exciting! Didn't think I'd read/enjoy a manifesto today but I did and am glad. Small steps/acts/resistances/victories are so needed right now. Thank you for caring and doing
I'm with you on everything but, “Art should shock, hurt, offend, intrigue, be a merciless critic of the merciless times we are not only witnessing but whose victims we have become.” —Daša Drndić.
I think art can and often does these things. It should be allowed to. But the "should" gives me pause. It seems to presuppose what art is for in a way that feels incompatible to me with the kind of openness the rest of your manifesto promotes. But I wish you luck on your project, and will be interested to see where you take it.

I am obsessed with the pre-raphaelites ... love that y'all reference them. Notably, they had a great deal of brilliant women artists, too!

Yes! I love that book. Have you listened to the pre-raphaelite podcast? It's great, though sometimes the audio quality can be a bit iffy. https://the-pre-raphaelite-podcast.podbean.com/
I’m listening to this right now and it is so good!
